Fluke Fishing
Sunday, August 01 2010, 5:30am - 2:30pm

Charter: Bounty Hunter Fleet

Fishing Overview: Fluke ( Summer Flounder)

The approach to catching fluke can be simple or quite complicated. Often in conjunction with a teaser placed at least 1ft above the sinker/jig, many types of rigs successfully used in NY will work in New Bedford.

1. Generally, expect to use the following techniques on these trips: Due to greater depths and faster currents than in NY, consider using up to 2x as much weight as you would normally. Here are some guidelines for weights to consider for Bucktails (up to 4 oz), Fluke Balls (up to 6 oz), Sinkers (up to 8-10 oz).

2. Typical tackle used: 15-30lb class fast-action rods, conventional reels with 30-40lb braided or 15-20lb monofilament line.

Fishing Equipment: Up on request.  Please see charter website for futher details

Bait: Provided.

Boat Fare (Excluding Tips): $120 per Angler (Aboard 31' Bounty Hunter)
